GDP’s leader urges Southern units to strictly maintain combat readiness and military discipline prior Tet holiday
PANO - A delegation of the General Department of Politics (GDP), led by its Deputy-Director Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, visited and extended new-year greetings to the department’s relevant organs and units in the Southern region of Vietnam on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) holidays on Jan. 23.

Major General Tran Van Vuong, Chief of GDP’s Department of Politics joined the delegation.
During the visit, GDP’s leaders were briefed upon the units’ task performance over the past year and its plans for this year, together with their preparations for the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) holidays.
Speaking at the event, General Le Hien Van hailed the solidarity spirit and attempt to overcome hardships and fulfill assigned missions. He asked them to continue bringing into play their achievements, collaborating with local authorities and people, and improving the quality of task performance in the time to come.
Prior to the Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) holidays, General Van required units to strictly maintain combat readiness and military discipline while ensuring interests for servicemen’s families, and disadvantaged laborers. Additionally, the senior defense leader urged units to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year Festival) holidays with absolute safety for troops, weapons and equipment.
Finally, he wished the units’ troops and employees’ good health and successes in this year’s task performance.
