During the event, participants reminisced about the 45 years of the unit’s construction, development with a number of feats of arms and achievements.
Forty-five years ago, to meet the missions of training, combat readiness, Fatherland protection in the new situation, on October 8, 1977, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision on establishing Helicopter Air Force Regiment 930 with the duties of training pilots using helicopters UH-1, Mi-8, Mi-24, and ensuring technical services to complete both routine and unscheduled tasks.

Since 2013, the regiment has taken more duties, including observing and scouting targets in the sky, on land, on water, on islands, in the Central and Central Highlands, flying special aircraft to serve leaders of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense, and participating in search and rescue, disaster prevention and control activities. It has also regularly conducted mass mobilization work, helped people in the unit’s stationed areas develop socio-economy, reduce poverty and eliminate hunger, and build strong local political establishment.

Attentively, in October 2020, the regiment’s flight crews and rescue forces conducted search and rescue activities in Rao Trang 3 hydropower area in Thua Thien Hue province and Phuoc Son district in Quang Nam province, and transported relief goods to flood-hit victims in a timely manner.
On its development journey, the regiment has been honored with a third-class Feat-of-Arm Order, emulation flags, “Determined-to-Win Unit” and “Unit with Good Training” titles and a lot of certificates of merit in recognition of its outstanding achievements in flood prevention and search and rescue activities, and more.

Over the years, the regiment has focused on improving quality of combat readiness training, ensuring flight safety, promoting emulation movements on bringing into play initiatives and technical improvements, and enhancing troops’ skills to meet short- and long-term mission requirements.
