PANO - The National Defense Academy (NDA) under the Ministry of National Defense opened a training course on defense-security knowledge for high-ranking officials.

Present at the event were Vice Admiral Pham Ngoc Minh - Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Major General Tran Viet Khoa, Director of the academy.

Trainees are high-ranking officials from ministries and central agencies, and key leaders of provinces and cities nationwide.

The course aims to provide them with latest defense-security information and situation, defense-security knowledge and the Party’s and State’s viewpoint on defense and security in the current context.

During the course, the learners will study defense-security strategies of some major countries; Vietnam’s national defense and security strategy in the current context; policies and laws on security and defense; operations in the defensive area at military zone- and provincial-levels; combat against the “peaceful evolution” plot, and disturbance and overthrow attempts of hostile forces.

Apart from classes, the learners will also have field trips to military units, practice live fire shooting and participate in exercises on strategic defensive operations.
