The exercise was observed by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia.
During the event, which attracted the participation of many forces, using different kinds of weapons and equipment, troops had to march and swim across a river.
They practiced shifting combat readiness to higher levels, marched to rendezvous site, prepared for and conducted combat operation and live-fire contents.
During the exercise, participating units well applied methods to shifting combat readiness posture and moving forces to assembly area as planned. Commanding officers at all levels flexibly applied theories and principles to leading and directing the settlement of circumstances in accordance with requirements of combat missions.
Notably, in the stage titled “Infantry Battalion attacks airborne enemy in midland terrains,” troops of Battalion 7 under Regiment 18 closely coordinated with fire units to flexibly deal with circumstances and annihilate all targets while ensuring absolute safety.
The success of the exercise contributed to assessing the qualifications and leadership capacity of commanding officers at all levels as well as the close coordination among agencies and units under the corps. It also demonstrated the advisory capacity of agencies at all levels and troops’ responsibility and mastery of weapons and equipment.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia praised participating forces for excellently accomplishing missions while ensuring absolute safety. He asked the unit to flexibly apply and continue renewing methods to enhance the quality of training and exercises to meet requirements of missions in the new context.
