The mission visited and extended New Year greetings to Regiment 916 of Division 371 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Border Guard Vocational School 24, and Brigade 144 of the General Staff.

During the visits, Gen. Tan praised the units’ obtained results over the past time and said that they should continue to grasp the Defense Ministry’s directive on combat readiness and organization of lunar New Year activities, strictly observe military discipline, and make thorough preparations for and hold safe and economical Tet for troops.

In addition, the deputy chief of the General Staff asked the units to coordinate with local party committees and authorities and forces to closely follow situational developments, thus handling emerging issues in a timely manner; get ready and effectively carry out training for recruits. 

He approved Regiment 916’s flying plan to celebrate the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 and requested the unit to be well-prepared to serve in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the second defense expo. 

Gen. Tan urged Border Guard Vocational School 24 to focus on managing, taking care of, and developing service dogs; pro-actively train to ensure security and safety at the second Vietnam International Defense Expo. At Brigade 144, he asked the unit to enhance patrol and guard to ensure absolute safety during Tet.
