Defense Ministry inspects units’ combat readiness and Tet preparation
PANO - On January 23, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, led a mission of the Defense Ministry to inspect combat readiness and preparation for the coming lunar New Year (Tet) 2024 holiday at Division 325 (Army Corps 12), Division 3 (Military Region 1) and Regiment 927 of Division 371 (Air Defense - Air Force Service).
After listening reports and checking the three units’ situations, Gen. Cuong highly valued their task performance in 2023, particularly Division 325, which effectively joined a live-fire exercise of the newly-established Army Corps 12.

The general applauded Division 325’s active manner and combat readiness, especially troops of Battalion 3, Regiment 101 during an unannounced inspection.
Gen. Cuong also requested the units’ chains-of-command to thoroughly grasp and seriously carry out military directions and orders in 2024 and instructions for raising combat readiness by the Defense Minister during the Tet holiday. At the same time, they should ready vehicles and equipment to be prepared for any circumstances, maintain combat readiness posture, and enhance patrols to ensure absolute safety.

Meanwhile, the units should also complete tasks to bid farewell to discharged soldiers and receive new recruit soldiers, make full preparation for the new training season, raise troops’ living standards, and build plans to ensure a cozy and happy Tet atmosphere for on-duty troops.
On the occasion of the coming Tet holiday, Gen. Cuong extended Tet greetings and handed over gifts to the three units.
