Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang made the request at his working session with General Department II on its military-defense task performance over the past time and key missions in the coming time on October 11.
According to a report delivered at the event, General Department II has pro-actively and actively followed the CMC and MND’s leadership and direction, comprehensively carried out working aspects according to its functions and duties, and excellently completed political tasks.
In addition, the general department reported and promptly made recommendations to the Party, State, CMC, MND’s leaders to deal with strategic situations, made effective contribution to the Party and State’s external service, people-to-people exchange, and defense diplomacy as well as to the maintenance of political security, firm defense of Fatherland early and from afar to avoid any surprises.

Concluding the meeting, Gen. Giang applauded General Department II for its outcomes.
Given higher requirements in military and defense tasks and military building, the defense chief asked the unit to embrace leadership guidelines of higher levels, promote innovation, creativity, and synergy.
General Department II was also requested to streamline its personnel organization, build comprehensively-strong, exemplary, and typical affiliated units and a competent contingent of cadres with a firm political stance and absolute loyalty to the Party, State, and military, and readiness to take on and fulfill all assignments.
Gen. Giang believed that General Department II will develop stronger, excellently complete all assigned duties, and deserve to be a key, reliable force of the Party, State, military and people.
