According to a report delivered at the event, in November, though taking on numerous duties, the whole military has fulfilled all assignments thanks to the thorough and comprehensive leadership and direction of the standing board of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

Particularly, in the month, regulations on combat readiness duties, management over the sky, border and inland have been observed strictly while recommendations have been given in a timely manner to effectively handle contingencies.

Notably, defense agencies and military units have advised higher levels to well organize the third meeting of the steering committee on reviewing 10 years of implementing the resolution on the Fatherland protection strategy in the new situation adopted at the eighth session of the 11th Party Central Committee.

In addition, training programs, sports festivals, training examinations have been carried out as planned.

Also in this month, the 40th anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day was observed and military instructors were honored in solemn ceremonies.

It is worth noting that the Vietnamese military delegation ranked first among ten participating countries of Vietnam-hosted 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-30) with 42 medals, including 17 golds.

Other achievements of the whole military in November were the good performance of political and ideological education work, protection of the Party’s ideological foundation, fight against wrongful views of hostile forces, and intensive and effective implementation of the high-level emulation program in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory.

Moreover, since early this month, agencies and units in the military have evaluated and classified party cells and party members in a practical and serious manner while reviewing the implementation of the Central Military Commission’s thematic resolutions on training, logistical, technological, financial, and military scientific work.

Additionally, they have effectively performed international integration, defense diplomacy, logistical, technological, planning, investment, financial, economic, inspection and legislation affairs while ensuring materiel for missions.

Concluding the meeting, General Phan Van Giang, who is also Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, highly appreciated the outcomes and outstanding achievements gained by the whole military in November.

Regarding missions for December, the defense chief asked the Ministry of National Defense leaders to resolutely direct the implementation of duties for December, contributing to achieving all goals set for this year with higher results than last year.

According to him, the leadership should focus on the maintenance of combat readiness regulations, accurate forecast of developments of situations, provide timely suggestions to deal with emerging issues, firmly safeguard national sovereignty, territory, uphold of security and order nationwide, and more.

Together with further practicing combat readiness scenarios, military units should keep themselves active in disease, natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue affairs, contribute opinions to complete the draft of the Government’s action plan on realizing the Politburo’s Resolution No.22 on civil defense, the defense minister said.

He added that next month, it needs to report to the Politburo on the strategy of international integration and defense diplomacy by 2030 and the following years and thorough preparation for the Whole Military Politico-Military Conference 2022.

Given that December will see the 50th anniversary of the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory, the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 33th anniversary of the All-People Defense Day, and especially the first-ever Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang urged agencies and units in the whole military to make thorough preparations for these celebrations and events, leaving deep impression on international friends.
