Reports delivered at the conference revealed that in August, the whole military has strictly maintained combat readiness; firmly managed the air, sea, border areas, mainland, and cyberspace; ensured smooth communication and cryptography for missions; given timely recommendations to higher levels to deal with circumstances in a timely and effective manner.
The Ministry of National Defense (MND) has actively studied and reported Party and State leaders on contents related to the regional and international situation and made recommendations to effectively deal with issues. The ministry has inspected agencies’ and units’ training and combat readiness observance and directed the whole military to foster coordination with other forces to maintain security and public order and conduct second phase of training program.
Notably, Vietnamese contingents have performed well at the International Army Games (Army Games) 2022. The Vietnamese MND has successfully hosted the “Emergency Area” contest within the games, contributing to raising the prestige and position of Vietnam in general and Vietnam People’s Army in particular.
In the month, agencies and units in the whole military have strictly carried out the defense minister’s directive on building comprehensively strong, outstanding, and exemplary units, disseminated the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, and actively fought against wrongful viewpoints to protect the Party’s ideological foundation. External defense relations work has been comprehensively carried out and obtained positive results.
Concluding the conference, General Phan Van Giang highly appreciated outstanding outcomes obtained by units in the whole military in August and pointed out shortcomings that need addressing in the coming time.
Regarding key missions in September, the defense minister emphasized that the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and MND will continue leading and directing the whole military to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely follow and accurately forecast situational developments, carry out the second phase of training program, and stay ready to respond to natural disaster and diseases.
General Giang emphasized the need to focus on leadership over education and training work and observance of regulatory building. Together with training and combat readiness missions, he urged agencies and units to pay attention to carrying out mass mobilization activities and search and collection of remains of fallen soldiers, ensuring logistical and technical supplies to missions, raising troops’ life and health, and accelerating the building of a plan on digital transformation in MND in the 2023-2025 period with a vision to 2030.
