Defense Minister chairs CMC conference

The event was attended by General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, among others.

At the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong reported on the preparations and consulted the CMC about the contents of the project “Revision of the 10-year implementation of the resolution of the eighth session of the 11th Party Central Committee on the Fatherland protection strategy in the new period.”

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, informed the delegates on the world and domestic situations related to military - defense tasks, and the contents of the 13th Party Central Committee’s mid-term conference.

Concluding the event, General Phan Van Giang required the delegates to thoroughly grasp the situations, particularly contents related to military - defense tasks while focusing on coordinating with other departments, ministries, branches and localities to realize the targets for building and consolidating national defense and security.

Also, General Giang required them to step up research, promote strategic thinking and pro-actively engage in important issues defined at the 13th Party Central Committee’s mid-term conference, contributing to the success of the conference.
