Defense leader works with Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command

At the event, a command’s leader reported that since the beginning of this year, the political security, social order and safety in border gate areas have been stable while entry and exit activities via international border gates in Lao Cai province have taken place normally in line with national laws and international practices.

The provincial command has directed its affiliated units to well carry out border external affairs with China, establish and maintain mechanisms of coordination, online talks, sharing of information about border and border gate management and protection to deal with emerging situations in a timely manner.

It has worked closely with authorized sectors to boost the management and monitoring of immigration and import-export activities, made suggestions on piloting the model “Public service portal” at Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No.2, facilitating the handling of administrative procedures at the border gate and creating favorable conditions for enterprises and businessmen.

Acknowledging the provincial Border Guard Command’s achievements, difficulties and proposals, Gen. Chien praised their great efforts and outcomes. He hoped that the command will continue to reform administrative procedures, renew thoughts about border work, improve competence, pay due attention to developing a contingent of regular, professional and modern staff to improve the quality of the border work. It was also asked to continue developing the smart border gate model to serve the monitoring of immigration and import-export activities.
