PANO - The Ministry of Defence on March 21st held a conference to thoroughly grasp the “Regulation on financial matters in the People’s Army” for leaders in charge of finance in the Ministry’s agencies and units. Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Defence, attended the event.
An old regulation, in effect since 1997, will be replaced by this new one, which includes 12 chapters and 79 clauses.
During the conference, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Van Duoc stressed that the Army’s financial units must peruse the new document in order to make a basic and comprehensive renovation of the Army’s financial management, taking strict control over the national budget as well as corruption prevention. At the same time, Party Committees and leaders at all levels must also bring into full play their role in the campaign of thrift practice and preventing loss and waste from draining the State budget.
