 PAN’s Editorial Board presenting gifts to Cuban delegates

At the reception, the PAN’s Editor-in-Chief, Major General Pham Van Huan, congratulated Cuba on its achievements under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, stressing that Cuba has always been an example with high spirit of self-reliance and Cuba has always been in the heart of every Vietnamese.

Major General Huan sent heartfelt condolences to brotherly Cubans, over the demise of former Cuban President Fidel Castro, the great friend of Vietnamese people.

The PAN’s Editor-in-Chief said that the newspaper has paid special attention to covering the situation of Cuba, its development and people’s life as well as the Vietnam-Cuba fruitful relationship on its publications.

He also briefly introduced the guests to the PAN’s history and developments over the past time, saying that the PAN, with the honor of being named by late President Ho Chi Minh, is one of the leading political newspapers in Vietnam and has actively contributed to the national salvation, construction and protection cause. With its present platforms namely print, online, audio and video, the number of the PAN readers keeps increasing.

On behalf of the Cuban delegation, Joel García León thanked the PAN leaders and staff for a warm reception and emphasized that the aim of the visit to Vietnam was to learn more about the development of Vietnam’s mass media. He said that what the PAN had shared were precious lessons for Cuban journalists to tackle any challenges posed by rapid development of modern mass media.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz on this occasion expressed his deep thank to the PAN for its moving articles on President Fidel Castro. He highlighted other PAN’s high quality articles on Cuba and the close relationship between Cuba and Vietnam. The Cuban diplomat also committed to making contributions to enhancing the solidarity between the journalists’ associations of the two countries and hoped to see developing ties between Vietnam and Cuba and the two journalists’ chapters.
