Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang sent a letter of congratulation to the unit. Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang attended and spoke at the event.
At the celebration, delegates recalled the glorious tradition of the unit. Established in wartime, troops of Commando Regiment 113 (predecessor of Commando Brigade 113) obtained resounding feats-of-arm.

In peacetime, troops of Commando Brigade 113 have upheld virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and traditions of the heroic brigade to build a comprehensively strong, exemplary and outstanding unit. Its training quality and combat readiness capability have been enhanced, contributing to meeting all task requirements in the new period.
With its outstanding achievements in combat, international duties and current national construction and defense cause, Brigade 113 was honored with the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces thrice in 1975, 1979, and 2000. Six collectives and 12 individuals of the units were also presented with the title and other noble orders.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang acknowledged and praised excellent outcomes of Commando Brigade 113 over the past years. The deputy chief of the General Staff expected that in the coming time the unit’s troops will promote heroism, self-reliance, and unity to build a politically-, ideologically- and organizationally-strong unit.
He also urged the unit’s personnel to accelerate emulation spirit, strive to enhance their competence and combat readiness capabilities, and always be ready to undertake and fulfill assigned missions, contributing to meeting the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized corps.
