Commando Brigade 1 receives noble order
PANO - On April 15, Commando Brigade 1 of the Commando Corps held a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of its foundation day (April 15, 1968) and receive the second-class Fatherland Protection Order.
Present at the event were Major General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army; Major General Do Thanh Binh, Commander of the Commando Corps; and Major General Le Thanh Ha, Political Commissar of the Commando Corps.

Vice-President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh sent congratulation flowers to the ceremony while General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defense Minister, sent a letter of commendation to praise the unit’s troops on this occasion.
In his speech at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Cong Long, the Brigade’s Commander, recalled the unit’s achievements over the past 50 years. Particularly, generations of staff of the unit have always heightened their revolutionary vigilance, surmounted adversities and promoted bravery and creativeness to fulfill all assigned missions.

On behalf of the State President, General Tien pinned the noble order onto the unit’s “Determined-to-win” flag. He also urged them to continue thoroughly introducing the Party’s resolutions and the State’s policies to troops, studying new tactics, and improving training quality in the time to come.
