Collaboration enhanced against smuggling
PANO - The Department of Smuggling Prevention and Suppression of the General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention of the Vietnam Border Guard Command under the Ministry of National Defense, signed an agreement on March 28 to boost their collaboration on preventing and fighting smuggling in the 2017-2020 period.

Present at the ceremony was Lt. Gen. Tran Van Ve, Deputy Director of the General Department of Police and Maj. Gen. Hoang Dang Nhieu, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, among others.
Accordingly, the two sides agreed to work together in giving advice to higher levels, enhancing information sharing, coping with smuggling cases, building forces and training.
Both units will also cooperate in implementing direction of the national and ministerial steering committees for smuggling prevention. They also agreed to exchange smuggling-related information through a hotline between the two sides' leaders.
