Leadership of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command welcoming the mission |
At the meeting, the Vietnam border chief was reported on the command’s task implementation over the past time. Accordingly, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command have actively directed their affiliated units and agencies to effectively realize higher levels’ directives, resolutions, conclusions, and plans, and promote their role in military-defense task implementation and border work.
The command’s Party Committee and leadership have pro-actively kept a close watch on situations to give recommendations to the Party Committee of the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee to comprehensively and synchronously carry out all work aspects and solve issues related to territorial sovereignty, security in border areas, at sea, and on islands in a timely manner.
They have also effectively fought against different types of crimes, well managed and protected the border, implemented mass mobilization work, boosted dissemination information about IUU fishing and its prevention, and conducted programs for needy people in border areas, at sea and on islands.

Highly appreciating the command’s Party Committee for duty accomplishments, Gen. Thai asked them to further promote attainments, pro-actively coordinate with forces to grasp situations, give advice to local Party committees and authorities at all levels, deal with situations effectively, and keep solidarity and friendship with Cambodian border protection forces and authorities.
Together with conducting patrols, closely managing the border and preventing crimes in border areas, the committee was requested to enhance training to meet task requirements, actively carry out emulation movements, and socio-economic development models in the stationed locality.
