Border troops inspect prevention of coronavirus (nCoV)
PANO - A delegation of the Border Guard Command, led by Deputy Commander of Border Guard Major General Le Duc Thai, on January 29 visited and worked with the functional agencies of Quang Ninh province and Mong Cai city on the prevention and control of pneumonia caused by a new coronavirus strain.
Speaking at the working session, Senior Colonel Dang Toan Quan, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command said that over the past time, the unit has thoroughly implemented the higher-level agencies' directions on prevention and control of pneumonia caused by a new coronavirus strain, proactively grasped situations and directed other units to strengthen border and border gate management, fight against smuggling and illegal entry and exit, and monitor cross-border trade of commodities at risk of disease transmission.

Furthermore, the unit has actively conducted patrols to promptly deal with unexpected situations.
Speaking at the event, Gen. Thai asked the provincial Border Guard Command to continue to coordinate with local authorities at all levels to thoroughly grasp the instructions of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of National Defense. Gen. Thai also urged relevant units to implement external affairs, closely cooperate with China to prevent the spread of the disease, and ensure the health of troops who are on duty in border areas.
The same day, Gen. Thai and the delegation reviewed measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (nCoV) at the Mong Cai International Border Gate, Bac Luan Border Gate and other places.
Accordingly, he directly inspected the disease prevention and control of the units as well as encouraged troops to well perform their missions.
