PANO – Army units have recently launched tree-planting festivals, in response to the “Be grateful to Uncle Ho forever” tree-planting movement.
* Division 3 of Military Zone 1 has mobilized thousands of troops to plant 12 hectares of fruit and timber trees. Besides, the unit has over the past time provided good care to 20 hectares of trees.
* Units of Army Corps 2 have planted nearly 57,000 fruit, timber and shade trees, as well as promoted dissemination to raise troops’ awareness of protecting the environment and building regular, green, clean and beautiful barracks. The units have been active in preventing blazes in their barracks and localities where they are stationed.
* 14,000 trees of different kinds have been planted by units of Division 395 of Military Zone 3. The division has cooperated with local organs, schools and units to take care of the planted trees for environmental and economic benefits.
* Units of the Nghe An provincial Military Command have completed their tree-planting festivals and actively participated in activities of this kind in localities where they are stationed. The command asked troops to take good care of the planted trees.
* Regiment 916 of the Air Defence – Air Forces Service has launched the festival to plant over 2,000 fruit, timber and shade trees as well as organized activities to help troops grasp the purpose and meaning of the tree-planting festival.
* The Quang Ngai provincial Military Command has worked with Ly Son island district to plant over 1,000 trees along main roads and on Thoi Loi Mountain, and instructed the district’s military command to cooperate with local organs to protect the planted trees.
