Army to boost foreign cooperation on military medicine
PANO - On March 24, Deputy Defense Minister, Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, worked with the Department of Military Medicine (DMM) (the Ministry of National Defense) in Hanoi. Attending the event were representatives of the Department of External Affairs, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center, the Military Medical Academy, Central Military Hospital 108 and Military Hospital 175.

At the meeting, DMM's leader briefed the attendees on the department's task performance over the past time, especially its external relations. Accordingly, Vietnam's military medicine sector expanded international cooperation with its counterparts from 30 countries in the world, signed MoUs with the military medical forces of 10 other nations, sent thousands of military doctors to and welcomed thousands partners from foreign countries to Vietnam for exchanging experience. As a result, the military medical sector has been increasingly developed in terms of medical expertise, skills, equipment and facilities with support from foreign nations, contributing to improving the quality of scientific research, diseases' prevention and treatment.
Having hailed the achieved results of the department, General Vinh urged it to continue grasping the higher levels' resolutions and instructions, promoting cooperation with neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Laos, and China, as well as participating in training for UN peacekeeping operations in the time to come.
