PANO - Deputy Minister of Defence and the Navy’s Commander Admiral Nguyen Van Hien on January 23rd visited and presented Tet gifts to Truong Sa (Spratly) troops' families living in Hanoi.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, Admiral Hien gave gifts to the family of wounded soldier Tran Van Thuan, former Vice Commander of a battalion under Naval Brigade 126, and the family of Captain Nguyen Trung Phuong who is working on Truong Sa archipelago.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Party, State and Army always appreciate the sacrifices and great contributions of heroic martyrs and wounded soldiers in the cause of national construction and protection.

Admiral Nguyen Van Hien encouraged the families to continue promoting the revolutionary tradition, as well as being the bright examples in implementing policies and guidelines of the Party and State.

He also asked local authorities at all levels to take care of policy beneficiaries and families of soldiers who are working in remote border areas and on islands.
