PANO - The Air Defence and Air Force Academy (ADAF), together with other academies and schools under the Defence Ministry, on September 15th held a ceremony to begin the new academic year of 2010-2011.

Present at the ceremony were representatives of Defence Ministry’s agencies, leaders of Air Defence and Air Forces, leaders of local civilian bodies and all cadres, teachers, learners and soldiers of the Academy.

In the 2010-2011 academic year, The Air Defence and Air Force Academy has been selected by the Defence Ministry as one of 7 other military education and training institutions to build a standardised school under 5 criteria.

The new academic year is also considered a premise for the Academy to implement the scheme “Education and Training Development Strategies in the Period of 2011-2020”.

Addressing the ceremony, the Commandant of the Academy, Major-General Tran Van Thanh, unveiled that the Academy is assigned to train more than 2,700 learners of all kinds, including nearly 50 international ones.

The Commandant encouraged all cadres, teachers, learners and soldiers of the Academy to well fulfill their duties and tasks and join force in further building and strengthening the Academy.

 

Prior to the tough missions in the new educational year, the Academy has actively prepared for and improved its assets and efforts. More than 40 classes were upgraded and equipped with modern audio-visual facilities and special technical devices.

The Academy also provided training courses in IT, technical skills and new methodologies for teachers so that they could successfully operate new technical equipment and effectively provide knowledge during classes and field training.

In addition, the academy is implementing a number of other projects to upgrade and build a new class system, training fields and simulation modules for training.
