Young Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard officers to build the waters of peace and stability
PANO – Young Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard officers took part in an exchange, themed “Together Building the Waters of Peace and Development” in Da Nang city on December 24.
The second meeting was an opportunity for young coast guard officers of the two countries to exchange information and experiences in order to promote the efficiency of cooperation activities. The meeting also inspired youths to further strengthen the Vietnam-China friendship and maintain peace, stability and development of the two countries.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Major General Doan Bao Quyet, Deputy Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, affirmed that the Vietnam-China friendship is a valuable asset founded and developed by President Ho Chi Minh, President Mao Zedong, leaders and people of the two countries. Therefore, young coast guard officers and youths of the two countries should be responsible for consolidating the long-standing friendship, contributing to preserving and promoting the spirit of “Good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners” and to the national construction and protection cause of each country.

He said that since the first meeting in Guangxi, China, young coast guard forces of the two countries have actively participated in and made great contribution to the success of two Vietnam-China joint fishery patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin. The two sides have actively exchanged information to deal with incidents at sea, conducted search and rescue missions and disseminated laws on fishing at sea. These efforts of young coast guard officers have contributed to safeguarding the stable, peaceful and friendly waters.
During the event, young coast guard officers of the two countries shared experiences in conducting political and ideological work, search and rescue and law enforcement, visited landscapes in Da Nang city, SOS Children’s Village and had exchanges with troops of Coast Guard Region 2.
