The visit aimed to bring happiness to children in the country on the Children’s Day and encourage them to reap academic achievements in the future. It also offered the Vietnamese blue-berets an opportunity to understand more about their missions, thus encouraging them to fulfill all assigned tasks.
During the event, the Vietnamese peacekeepers presented gifts, including notebooks, pencils, English books and coloring books to the school’s children. These gifts might not be worth much in value, but they demonstrated the sentiment of the Vietnamese peacekeepers for South Sudanese children.

Apart from presenting gifts, youth of the L2FH Rotation 3 taught local children how to play Vietnamese folk games, including skipping rope and blind man's bluff. The Vietnamese peacekeepers and the school’s children painted fish made from water bottles and sang the English version of “Blue beret soldiers” song together. The song was written by Major General and musician Nguyen Hong Son, Director of Military Hospital 175, and is expected to help local children be aware of the noble missions of the UN peacekeeping force and encourage them to study hard.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese medical workers also planted trees in the compound of the school.
