Vietnamese, Lao units establish twinning ties

Senior Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Hue City Border Guard Command, and Colonel Sopha Phoxayyavong, Chief of Political Affairs of the Salavan Provincial Military Command attended the ceremony.

An overview of the ceremony

Under the agreement, the two sides will strengthen coordination in managing and protecting border areas, maintain regular meetings and information exchanges, conduct joint patrols, and raise awareness among border communities of strictly complying with agreements and regulations on border and border gate management and protection.

They will also intensify joint efforts in combating various crimes, provide support in search and rescue operations and disease prevention. The two sides also plan to organize cultural and sports exchanges and to share practical experience in building a strong, exemplary and outstanding unit.

Speaking at the ceremony, leaders from both sides affirmed that this event played an important role in consolidating mutual trust and strengthening the special friendship between the border forces of Vietnam and Laos. Together, they aimed to build a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development.
