In his remarks, Lieutenant General Bui Huy Biet, Deputy Political Commissar of the National Defense Academy of Vietnam, underscored that the seminar took place on the occasion of celebrating the 15th anniversary of the signing of the twinning agreement between the two academies (September 27, 2009 - 2024).

The twinning relationship between the two units aims to maximize the capabilities and strengths of each side to support each other in performing their functions and assigned tasks, contributing significantly to building a contingent of senior military officers and excellent military scientists; building strong armed forces; consolidating and strengthening national defense and security; and maintaining independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of each country in the new situation.

An overview of the event

At the event, delegates emphasized the significance of comprehensively deepening twinning activities in all aspects with the spirit of "solidarity, friendship, equality, practicality, and efficiency" in accordance with the functions and tasks of the two academies.

Meanwhile, both sides should focus on clarifying measures to raise the training quality of senior military officers of the Lao People’s Army who are studying and doing research at the National Defense Academy of Vietnam, as well as the expertise of the contingent of officers and instructors of the National Defense Academy of Vietnam who participate in training and research activities and the compiling of documents and training and education curricula at the Kaysone Phomvihane National Defense Academy.

Also, they should clearly define cooperation contents between the two academies in performing the tasks of training, education and scientific research, among others.
