Vietnamese, Lao Departments of Finance sign twinning agreement
PANO - The Department of Finance under Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) and its counterpart from the General Department of Logistics of Laos’ MND signed a twinning agreement on December 11 in Hanoi.
Major General Luu Sy Quy, Vietnam’s Director of the Department of Finance, led the Vietnamese delegation, while the Lao side was led by his counterpart Colonel Lamnguon Sukhavong.

The twinning ceremony was held on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 75th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army, under the implementation of the contents listed in the minutes of the working session between the two Departments of Finance on June 3, 2024, in the Lao capital of Vientiane.

Speaking at the event, Maj. Gen. Luu Sy Quy underlined that the Vietnamese Department of Finance actively and pro-actively coordinated with functional agencies of the Vietnamese MND and gave recommendations to higher levels to organize the twinning ceremony with the Lao Department of Finance.

Under the agreement, the two sides will enhance delegation and information exchanges within the scope, functions, tasks and authority of the two sides; promote cooperation in training and education, etc. The contents of the twinning agreement are in accordance with the regulations of the two countries' MND on defense external affairs, personnel organization, functions and tasks of the two units.
