Russia’s Friendship Order bestowed upon Vietnamese deputy defense minister

The event witnessed the participation of Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Vnukov Konstantin Vasilievich, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, and Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Lieutenant General Le Hien Van.

At the ceremony, the Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Vnukov Konstantin Vasilievich announced the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin and handed over the order to General Vinh. The Russian diplomat recognized contributions of General Vinh to reinforcing and strengthening the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, including defense ties and the cooperation of the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center. He also applauded the bilateral defense cooperation results over the past time, especially in military techniques.

He expressed his belief that as head of the Vietnamese sub-committee of the Inter-governmental Coordinating Committee for the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, General Vinh will contribute more to the collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, other ministries and sectors and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam so that the center will continuously develop and fulfill the tasks assigned by the two states.

Thanking the Russian State and Government for the distinction, General Vinh affirmed that over the past thirty years, the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center has become an effective cooperation model in military science-technology between the two sides and held an important position in the two countries’ relationship.

He believed that the comprehensive strategic partnership, including cooperation in defense and military science-technique, will be further enhanced. He hoped that the Russian State and relevant agencies and sectors will continue supporting and cooperating with the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center to help it further develop in the time to come.
