Vietnamese, Chinese coast guards join exchange on professional experience
PANO - The Vietnamese and Chinese coast guards, on December 6 at Division No.3 of the Chinese Coast Guard, co-held an exchange to share experience in maritime, International Code of Signals, and search and rescue.

These activities were in the framework of the Vietnam Coast Guard’s Ship 8002’s visit and exchange in Guangzhou, China.
During the event, both sides practiced how to tie and splice ropes in maritime sector. Implementing the International Code of Signals content, the two forces conducted communication methods using hand flags and international lights. In the spirit of solidarity, they well implemented the professional contents, achieving the set goals and requirements.

On the same day, the two sides carried out search and rescue training according to a scenario when a Chinese trawler suddenly caught fire with two crew-members injured. Accordingly, Chinese Ship 3301 asked Vietnamese Ship 8002 for support.

The two ships then discussed and mapped out a plan for search and rescue mission. Thanks to close coordination, the fire was put under control while the distressed fishermen received timely medical treatment.
In the same day, Major General Le Quang Dao, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, visited Chinese Ship 3301.
