Addressing the event, Gen. Yu stressed that under the strategic leadership of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has achieved new developments, while the trust and cooperation between the two coast guard forces have been deepened.

The Chinese official believed that the Vietnamese ship’s visit would help lift the cooperation in maritime law enforcement between Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard forces to a new height, making active contribution to the sustainability and stability of the two countries’ relations.

Reviewing the two forces’ activities over the past time, Major General Le Quang Dao emphasized the political significance of this visit and exchange in China, saying that it continues to confirm the close cooperative ties between the two maritime law enforcement forces, thus contributing to cultivating the traditional friendship, solidarity between the two parties, states, and people.

The Vietnamese general expressed his belief that the visit would be a foundation for future exchanges between the two coast guard forces to help their troops understand more about each other, enhance solidarity, and boost coordination in task performance.

After the welcome ceremony, the host visited Ship 8002.

During their stay in China, the Vietnamese delegation will visit ships of the Chinese Coast Guard, participate in a joint search and rescue, and fire prevention and fighting exercise with their Chinese peers, join sports events, and visit some cultural destinations in Guangzhou city.

Ship 8002’s visit to China will be an opportunity for the two coast guard forces to exchange experience, improve maritime law enforcement capability, and promote the friendship, mutual understanding and trust for further exchange and cooperation.
