Vietnamese border troops present gifts to Lao peers and locals
PANO – The Keng Du Border Post under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, in association with Keng Du commune of Ky Son district, handed over gifts to troops, public security force, and people in different communes of Laos’ Xiengkhuang province on September 12.

In particular, the unit presented five tons of rice, 40 boxes of instant noodles, ten beverage boxes, five kg of mononatri glutamate, 100 facemasks, and five liters of hand sanitizer liquid, among others, to troops of Border Company 223 of Laos’ Xiengkhuang provincial Military Command, public security officers, and people in Pienghong, Codu, and Bonhia villages of Nong Het district.
On the occasion, the two sides exchanged information relating to national sovereignty and border security protection work as well as COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control.
The two sides agreed to regularly exchange information, conduct joint patrols along the shared borderline, and cooperate to combat illegal immigration and prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. These are among many joint activities that protect peace along the Vietnam-Laos borderline.
