Speaking at the event, Major General Le Van Phuc, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, affirmed that Vietnamese border troops have closely coordinated with the border management and protection forces of Laos in sharing information, cooperating to prevent illegal exits and entries through border crossings, monitoring the health conditions of travelers, and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese nationals to return home safely.

At the event

Accordingly, the Vietnamese unit provided more than 30,000 medical face masks, 1,500 bottles of hand sanitizer, 3,000 pieces of protective clothing, 3 tons of rice and 150 boxes of instant noodles to three Lao units.

For his part, Colonel Phengxavanh Thipxavongxay, Deputy Director General of  the General Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), expressed his thanks for the support of the Vietnam Border Guard Command. He also stressed that the medical equipment and food will contribute to helping Lao border management and protection forces overcome difficulties and repel the disease.
