Vietnamese and RoK navies to promote cooperation
PANO - Vietnamese Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam and Admiral of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Sim Seung-Seob hoped that the two navies will enhance exchanges of delegations at all levels and consider establishing a dialogue mechanism between the two navies to give timely solutions to issues of shared concern.

Both Commanders of the Vietnamese and RoK Navies expressed the hope at their bilateral meeting on October 13 on the sidelines of the 16th Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS-16) which opened on October 12 in Jeju, the RoK.
At the meeting, the Korean Admiral thanked the Vietnam People’s Navy for sending two vessels and a delegation to take part in the international fleet review hosted by the RoK Navy, contributing to the success of the celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the RoK Armed Forces.
For his part, Vice Admiral Nam congratulated the host on his newly–appointed post as the Commander of the RoK Navy and the RoK Navy’s successful organization of the international fleet review as well as of the WPNS-16 and related events.
The Vietnamese Navy’s Commander thanked the RoK Navy in particular and the RoK Armed Forces in general for their support for the Vietnamese Navy in the past. He also spoke highly of the RoK’s good sentiment for Vietnam and stressed that the two navies’ ties have developed on a par with the two countries’ strategic partnership.
On the afternoon of the same day, Commanders of the Vietnamese and RoK Navies participated in a banquet on Vietnam’s frigate 015-Tran Hung Dao.
