The delegation of the Vietnamese and Laos border guard officers pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap. |
Throughout his revolutionary life, General Vo Nguyen Giap’s name was inseparably linked to the establishment, combat, and growth of the VPA, with the great victories of the two resistance wars against French colonialists and American imperialists, and the Fatherland construction and defense cause. He made significant contribution to the world revolutionary movement and was deeply loved and respected by the people and admired by international friends.
Vietnam and Laos are known for their close relationship which was directly established by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane. The two neighboring countries share close bonds, nestled against the majestic Truong Son mountain range, drinking the same sweet Mekong River water. They also share cultural similarities, friendly relations, and a long history of mutual support.
In front of General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave, the young officers from both countries pledged to continue to harness the youthful energy, work closely together to protect the borderline, and contribute to strengthening the solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
