Personnel honored at the event |
During their deployment with the Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Military Hospital 121 personnel provided medical examinations, consultations and treatment for numerous medical and surgical cases. The surgical and anesthesia team successfully performed more than 30 operations under field conditions, including procedures for serious cases such as generalized peritonitis caused by a ruptured appendiceal abscess and surgical wound infections.
Beyond their medical duties, they contributed to developing professional procedures, conducting training, exchanging expertise, carrying out scientific research and supporting local communities. They actively participated in humanitarian assistance and mass mobilization activities, fostered exchange and experience sharing with international personnel, contributing to promoting the image of Viet Nam and the qualities of Uncle Ho's Soldiers.
Senior Colonel and Doctor Dang Ngoc Thuyet, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 121, said the achievements reflected the hospital's efforts in developing personnel with strong political resolve, professional expertise and the ability to perform demanding international missions. He added that the experience gained abroad would help improve medical services and support the hospital's continued development.
Following their deployments, seven personnel received U.N. Medals for their contributions to peacekeeping operations. Three were awarded Certificates of Merit by the General Staff, while four received Certificates of Commendation from the Viet Nam Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
