They agreed to continue promoting the exchange of delegations and young officers, training, cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping activities, humanitarian mine action, anti-terrorism, and cooperation among services and arms. The two sides will also cooperate in combating transnational crime and support each other’s initiatives.

Vietnam-Thailand defense policy dialogue is a regular mechanism which was set up to discuss strategic issues as well as to orient the defense cooperation of the two countries, so as to contribute to promoting Vietnam-Thailand friendship in general and cooperation between the two defense ministries in particular. In the relationship between the two nations, defense cooperation is an important pillar.
