Delegates at the event evaluated that cooperation between Vietnamese and Thai Ministries of National Defense continued to develop and reap substantial results. They agreed to continue promoting the exchange of delegations and young officers, training, cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping activities, humanitarian mine action, anti-terrorism, and cooperation among services and arms. The two sides will also cooperate in combating transnational crime and support each other’s initiatives.

Vietnam-Thailand defense policy dialogue is a regular mechanism which was set up to discuss strategic issues as well as to orient the defense cooperation of the two countries, so as to contribute to promoting Vietnam-Thailand friendship in general and cooperation between the two defense ministries in particular. In the relationship between the two nations, defense cooperation is an important pillar.
