Vietnam, Russia boost military technical cooperation
PANO – Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich received the visiting delegation of the Russian Sub-committee of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee led by Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Nikolaevich Drozhzhov on November 20.
At the reception, General Ngo Xuan Lich highly appreciated the results of the 21st meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on military technical cooperation. He affirmed that the Vietnamese people are always grateful to the people of the former Soviet Union and the Russian people at present for their support to Vietnam in its national liberation and construction. He believed that the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and military technical cooperation between the two countries will continue thriving in the future.

The two sides then exchanged the contents and methods to boost defense cooperation in line with the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and agreed to continue the exchanges of high-level delegations and enhance cooperation for mutual benefits, bringing the bilateral cooperation to a new height.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, who is head of the Vietnamese Sub-committee of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee, and Mr. Vladimir Nikolaevich Drozhzhov co-held the 21st meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on military technical cooperation.

At the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the role and significance of the Vietnam-Russia military technical cooperation in the overall comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia. They agreed to maintain and enhance defense cooperation, especially in military technology, in the coming time.
The delegates also reviewed military technical cooperation results gained since the 20th meeting of the intergovernmental committee and agreed on the cooperation plan for next year and the following years .
The delegations then signed the records of the meeting while the two head delegates expressed their confidence in more cooperation in the field between Vietnam and Russia in the coming time. They said the success of the 21st meeting will contribute to enhancing their defense ties and military technical cooperation as well as the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
