At the teleconference, Mrs. Hang said that in 2020, despite complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MND dispatched 12 contingents to compete at the Army Games in Russia, Belarus, and Uzbekistan with absolute safety and remarkable achievements. Reportedly, the Vietnam was ranked fourth among 32 countries participating in the competition, and the Tank contingent won Gold Medal in Group 2.
This year, the MND will host "Sniper Frontier" and "Emergency Area" events in the framework of the Army Games 2021 for the first time. It has been actively preparing training grounds, equipment, weapons, especially COVID-19 prevention and control measures so as to ensure the competition's safety and success, she highlighted.
Around 16 international military delegations have registered to participate in the competitions in Vietnam so far. The activity holds important political and external affairs significance, particularly as Vietnam and Russia are striving to strengthen and expand their long-standing traditional solidarity relations and comprehensive strategic partnership.
Meanwhile, this is also an occasion to further introduce the country, the people and the military of Vietnam to international friends.
