For his part, the Lao diplomat congratulated General Giang on being promoted to Defense Minister and believed that General Giang will continue contributing to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and militaries.
At the meeting, the two sides highlighted defense cooperation as a pillar in bilateral cooperation. They affirmed that bilateral defense cooperation has been promoted in an intensive, practical, and effective manner, contributing to the national construction and defense cause in each country.
The guest and host agreed that amid the complicated development of regional and international situations, the two countries should uphold their traditional friendship and special solidarity, including defense cooperation.
General Giang and the Lao Ambassador emphasized that in the coming time Vietnam and Laos should foster delegation exchanges at all levels, promote cooperation in different fields, and raise their defense power, contributing to protecting political security for socio-economic development and safeguarding national sovereignty and integrity.

* While hosting Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chay Navuth, General Giang extended best wishes to the diplomat and Cambodian people on the Chol Chnam Thmay, the traditional New Year Festival of Cambodia. Giang highlighted the efforts of the Cambodian Government, military, and people in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Vietnamese Defense Minister hoped that the Cambodian diplomat will fulfill all assigned missions and make more active contributions to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Cambodian Ambassador expressed a strong belief that General Giang will contribute to developing the time-honored relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia for benefits of the people of the two countries.
Highlighting bilateral defense cooperation over the past time, the two sides said that in the coming time the two countries should promote sharing information about strategic issues of mutual concern and strengthen cooperation in defense and military activities.

* At a reception for Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov, the Vietnamese Defense Minister affirmed that Vietnam has always treasured its traditional friendship with Russia and exerted its utmost efforts to preserve and promote their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Mentioning the Russian President’s decree on bestowing the Friendship Order of the Russian State to Vietnamese defense leaders, General Giang announced that Vietnam is going to award Russian defense leaders with the Friendship Order during visits in 2021.
Highlighting the effective contributions of the Russian Ambassador to the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, Giang hoped that the diplomat will continue helping strengthen bilateral cooperation in defense and military technology.
At the meeting, the two sides recalled the bilateral defense cooperation over the past time. Particularly, the two defense ministries have successfully hosted various defense activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties. At present, the two countries are making preparations for the International Army Games 2021.
