Apart from observing the joint patrol of the two countries’ border guard forces, the two defense leaders saluted border landmark, painted the landmark, and planted trees of friendship at Lao Bao International Border Gate and Densavan Border Gate.

Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Chansamone Chanyalath held that with a firm foundation laid by Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong, and fostered by generations of leaders of the two parties, states and peoples, the great relationship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been developing flourishingly.
Despite complicated developments of regional and international situations, the relationship between Vietnamese and Lao militaries has developed and been constantly consolidated, contributing to maintaining regional peace, bolstering socio-economic development in each country, deserving to be an important pillar of the two countries’ relations, he stressed.
The Lao defense minister underlined that the Laos - Vietnam relationship is an invaluable asset of the two parties, states, militaries and peoples, and a decisive factor in the victories of the Vietnamese and Lao revolutions.
Within the framework of the exchange, the two defense ministers signed a protocol on search and rescue cooperation, the Vietnam-Laos national defense cooperation plan in 2022 and witnessed the signing of the agreement on border guard cooperation between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the General Department of Security and the General Department of Police Force under the Lao Ministry of Public Security.
