Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia border friendship exchange to be held
PANO - The Border Guard Command of the Vietnam People's Army, on October 24 held a press conference to introduce the first Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia border friendship exchange in 2018 with the chair of Major General Nguyen Tien Thang, Chief of the Political Department of the Vietnam Border Guard Command.
According to the agreement of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, Cambodia's Ministry of Home Affairs and Defense Ministry, and Lao Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security, along with the provinces of Kon Tum (Vietnam), Ratanakiri (Campuchia), Attapeu and Sekong (Laos); the first Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia border friendship exchange in 2018 will take place on November 2 and 3.
The event is expected to be a remarkable cross-border activity, contributing to further strengthening the solidarity, cohesion, mutual trust, cooperation and development among three countries and the four provinces.
Besides, the exchange also aims to mark the 60th anniversary of the traditional day of Border Guards (March 3) and the 30th Whole People's Border Day in Vietnam.
Various activities, including a friendship seminar, a joint patrol, planting trees at the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia border landmark, as well as a free health check-up and medicine drive, will be held during the exchange.
