The increasing expansion and practical achievements of bilateral defense cooperation will contribute to heightening their political trust and maintaining each side’s security for the sake of peace, stability, and development in the region.

General Lich said that the two countries should bring into play the outcomes of the defense policy dialogue and other existing mechanisms while studying and supplementing potential cooperation mechanisms to make contributions to fostering the realization of the agreements reached by leaders of the two States and Defense Ministries.

On this occasion, General Lich gifted Deputy Minister Yasunori the two English and Vietnamese versions of the 2019 Vietnam National Defense White Paper, which was released on the same day, and a photo book of the Vietnam People’s Army. Notably, the Japanese Deputy Minister is the first foreign official to receive the two documents.
