The training course aims to equip the Lao trainees with knowledge and skills of organizing youth activities in military units as well as create an opportunity for the Vietnamese and Lao officers to exchange experiences in conducting the work.

During the course, the trainees will visit outstanding models and activities of youths of the Vietnam People’s Army and tours some Vietnamese historical and cultural relics, so as to improve their expertise and skills as well as their understanding of Vietnam and its people and the Vietnam People’s Army.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Colonel Dinh Quoc Hung, Head of the Military Youth Board, emphasized the significant role of military youths who have been a vanguard and main force to carry out military missions. He said that over the past time youths of the two armies have well preserved and promoted the fine traditional relationship between the two nations and militaries to successfully fulfill all assigned missions. They have hosted practical activities, contributing to strengthening special friendship between the two Parties, States, militaries, and peoples. Colonel Hung stressed that the training course was among practical activities to celebrate 40 years of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement (July 18, 1977) and 55 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962). 

Earlier, a Vietnamese Military Youth Board delegation on June 28 held a meeting with the youth delegation of the Laos People’s Army, led by Lieutenant Colonel Amphone Suokvixay, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, the two sides briefed each other of the situation of their youth activities and highly appreciated their cooperation over the past time. They shared their experiences in staff work and skills of organizing youth activities and movements and discussed measures to strengthen their coordination activities in the coming time, so as to raise the quality of youth work, consolidate relations among youths of the two countries, and strengthen time-honored special friendship between the two armies and peoples. 

The two head delegates agreed that in the coming time the two sides should promote information dissemination and education on the special friendship of the two Parties, States, and Armies for youths as well as accelerate activities to celebrate coming important events of the two countries.
