Vietnam Coast Guard to send ship to Japan for friendly exchange
PANO - On September 11, Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander in charge of law of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, checked the preparations of and assigned mission to Ship CSB 8004 of Coast Guard Region 1 concerning the upcoming visit to Japan.
The CSB 8004 is a multifunctional vessel and meets all international standards for vessels of its kind. The ship is tasked with search and rescue (SAR) of fishermen at sea, patrols, and other activities serving the protection of security and Vietnam’s sovereignty over its waters and continental shelf.
The journey to Japan is slated for late September. During the event, the Vietnamese vessel will pay a visit to the 5th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, join seminars and SAR exercises at sea, and pay courtesy calls on Japanese authorities, to name but a few.
In his speech, Major General Vu Trung Kien underlined that the visit of the CSB 8004 to Japan is one of major external affairs activities by the Vietnam Coast Guard in 2023, towards the 50th founding anniversary of the Vietnam - Japan relations.

At the same time, Major General Vu Trung Kien asked Coast Guard Region 1 to actively and carefully prepare for the visit. During the journey to Japan, the CSB 8004 should seriously team up with the Japanese counterpart to implement agreed contents.
