The festival is in celebration of the 25th founding anniversary of the Coast Guard Force (August 28, 1998 - 2023).

The four-day festival draws the participation of nearly 600 athletes and coaches from affiliated agencies and units of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

Athletes will compete in six events, namely men’s volleyball, women’s volleyball, table-tennis, tennis, badminton, and swimming, to show their physical qualities of “fastness, strength, durability, skillfulness.”

Addressing the opening ceremony, Major General Le Quang Dao asked the organizer and the jury to strictly observe the festival’s regulations, organize competitions scientifically, and ensure safety during the event; athletes to promote solidarity and show high resolve, and observe military discipline and the event’s regulations.

The sports festival is a chance for participating agencies and units to evaluate the quality of physical training and sports activities so as to improve skills and gain competition experience to build a contingent of coast guards with durable fitness, contributing to their accomplishment of all assignments.
