During the event, the two chairmen highly valued the outcomes of the Vietnam-China’s bilateral cooperation in 2016 and confirmed that the expansion of the cooperation mechanism of the Cooperation Committee on Vietnam-China Land Border Gate Management has brought about good results in each country’s entrance and exit and import-export management.
The results have actively contributed to ensuring security, social order and socio-economic development of the two countries’ localities along the shared borders.
The two sides also reviewed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed at the third conference and agreed to consider opening and upgrading several border gates as well as making public the fees at border gates. They also evaluated their direction to subcommittees in carrying out administrative reforms and studied the implementation of the new "one-stop-shop" customs model at the pair of border gates of Huu Nghi (Vietnam)-Youyi Guan (China) and considered building the example pair of Lao Cai (Vietnam)-He Kou (China) border gates.
