Vietnam, China boost border patrol cooperation
PANO – The Po Hen Border Guard Station under the Quang Ninh provincial Border Guard Command, in association with the Border Guard Station in Fangcheng District, Guangxi Province (China), on May 24 conducted a joint patrol along the shared borderline from border landmarks No. 1349/1 (1) to No. 1351 (2) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a joint patrol program.
Accordingly, the two sides conducted their joint patrol, checked the landmarks of No. 1349/1(1), No. 1349/1(2), No. 1350(1), No. 1350(3), No. 1351(1), and No. 1351(2) as well as discussed the situations in border areas.

During the inspection, the joint patrol determined that the border landmarks and markers of the border demarcation line have remained intact and in the correct positions following the protocol on border demarcation and marker planting signed between the two Governments, and furthermore, social order in the shared border areas have been ensured.
After the joint patrol, the two border guard stations jointly drew lessons from the program and signed the MoU on the bilateral patrol.
The two sides will carry out the next scheduled bilateral patrol in the third quarter of 2018.
The organization of bilateral patrols is an activity to consolidate and enhance cooperation on protecting and managing border areas as well as building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
