Vietnam, Cambodia foster cooperation in military and defense legislation
PANO - The Department of Legal Affairs under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense held talks with its counterpart under the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense on July 19 in Hanoi.
The Vietnamese and Cambodian delegations were led by their Directors Major General Han Manh Thang and General Mam Sophat, respectively.
Speaking at the talks, Major General Han Manh Thang emphasized the significance of the working visit of the Cambodian delegation to Vietnam. He said that the visit manifested the continuous and fruitful cooperation between the two departments.
The host expressed the hope that the two agencies will foster cooperation, contributing to consolidating the bilateral defense relations in particular and the good neighboring relations, tradition friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-standing relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia in general.

For his part, General Mam Sophat emphasized the close cooperative relations between the Vietnamese and Cambodia departments over the past time, especially when the defense ministries of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of military and defense legal affairs in 2017.
At the talks, the two sides exchanged information related to the building and completion of their system of military and defense laws and orientations to conduct cooperation activities within the memorandum of understanding, including delegation exchange and personnel training.
