Vietnam, Cambodia conduct joint maritime patrol
PANO – The Vietnam People’s Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy co-organized the 59th annual joint maritime patrol on June 23 and 24.

The participating forces included Ship 253 from Naval Region 5 of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Ship 1144 from the Naval Base of the Royal Cambodian Navy.
During the patrol, the two sides coordinated to carry out the tasks of fighting piracy, smuggling and drug trafficking, illegal immigration, arms trade, as well as maritime flag and lamp signal training in line with the International Code of Signals (ICS).
The joint patrol aims to protect security and order, and maintain a peaceful and stable environment in the historical waters of Vietnam and Cambodia, creating favorable conditions for the people of the two countries to do business and develop their economy.
