The Vietnamese defense minister also affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and highly values its relations with Australia. Over the past time, the bilateral strategic partnership has been constantly promoted in all fields, contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.
On the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Defense Cooperation signed in 2010 and Joint Vision Statement on Enhancing Defense Cooperation in 2018, the bilateral defense cooperation has been actively implemented in many fields, such as delegation exchange, dialogues and consultations, training, U.N. peacekeeping, military medicine, experience sharing among forces, overcoming war aftermath, and promoting the role of ADMM+ members.

In the coming time, General Giang hoped that Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski would promote defense cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in the aforementioned fields, contributing to the common interests of the region.
In 2023, the two militaries will organize various meaningful activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic ties and General Giang expressed his belief that the ambassador would make contribution to these activities.
For his part, Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski reviewed active developments in the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership, affirming to work closely with the Vietnamese Defense Ministry to promote the bilateral defense cooperation, with the focus on defense industry and U.N. peacekeeping operations.
